S15 Water Pump & Fuel Filter Replace-Part 07
This video describes how to remove and replace a GMC, S15, V6, 2.8L Water pump and in-line fuel filter. This episode illustrates what the water pump, power steering unit, and AC unit look like reassembled. Lesson learned: 1) purchase an in-line fuel filter before tearing down the water pump. 2) Thoroughly clean the water pump, power steering unit and the under side of the engine block near the PS and WP unit. 3) You don't have to disconnect the lower radiator hose since it connects to the block - not the water pump. 4) have a Zip tie ready to hold the breaker bar and tension arm away from the water pump bolts and heater hose. 5) have your T-27, T-35, and T-45 Torx head sockets ready at the beginning of the removal process, 6) have a number 13 metric open-end/box-end wrench handy to remove the nuts holding the water pump fan, 7) have a number 18 metric socket ready to loosen the two top AC Chassis bolts. 8) Have lots of shop towels and paper towels handy. This is a dirty job but you can do this and save big dollars. Took me about 7 hours. If you take the job to a mechanic expect to pay about 400 or 500 dollars to do everything I did.
